New Job!!

Today was my second day at my new job, and I can't complain!  I LOVE being someone's hygienist!!I am the only hygienist at my new office, and I am having a great time rearranging the drawers to fit what I want in them and meeting all the new patients!!  The people I work with are great too!!  Oregon has been as expected so far......RAINY!  It has rained every day since we got here on Saturday afternoon.  Hopefully one of these days it will stop so we can take the dogs to the beach and let them run!!  Both Molly and Deuce have been pretty good puppies, given that they have spent 14 hours in the Jeep to get here, and have been staying in a hotel room with no real exercise since.  I am going stir crazy in this little space so I can't imagine what they are thinking about this whole transition.  We have been struggling to find a place to live, but today we got a lead on what may be our future rental home, with the possibility of moving in after the first, so we are holding our breath for this one!!  Wish us luck!!

Two Oregonians?!

I can't eat.  I can't sleep.  My heart feels like it's going to jump out of my chest.  I'm excited, but that is mixed with sadness.  We are moving from the 208 area code to the 541.  From IDAHO to OREGON!  On the coast!!  I was chosen and accepted a job as a full time dental hygienist in Coos Bay, Oregon!  We have less than a week to move.  My brain is working overtime trying to figure out what we need to take on this inital trip and what can be left behind for a couple of months.  Jake will come with me until we find a place and get settled (since I will be working all week it will be his responsibility to scout us out a place to live), but then he will return to Idaho to get the house ready to be rented.

I don't know how to feel!!  When I first found out, I cried!  Several times, in fact.  Now I can tell people without crying, but they were happy tears, not sad ones.  I have been searching for a full time job or at least several part time jobs so I could be working full time for almost two years now, and this job is the answer to so many prayers.  It offers medical, dental, and vision benefits, as well as 401k and vacation pay.  If you are in the dental field, you know this is close to unheard of!!  Many dental offices do not offer benefits, or the benefits are limited to in-house dental and vacation pay.  This is exactly the job our family needs right now, and I am excited to get started, but sad to leave Idaho, the place I was born and raised, and love with all my heart.  I hope I learn to love Oregon as well, and that our dogs will adjust to everything okay.  I am most worried about them I think.  And I will miss my friends and family dearly, but this a such a good thing for us!
