We have our tree up and the stockings have been hung!!! From left to right: Jake, Me, Molly, and Deuce!! We got each dog a new toy and a gourmet sausage treat to put in their stockings, and then we got one bag of treats for them to share. Can't wait for them to enjoy them at Christmas!!
It's a snowman stocking family!!!!!

Puppies!
Molly is our two and a half year old yellow lab mix. I weighed her last week and she is 46 pounds. Small for a lab, but our vet says she is just fine. Deuce is our 6 month old pure bred, papered Weimeraner. He is just as tall as Molly and weighs 43 pounds, as of last week. And this both shocks and scares me. The boy is only 6 months old and is the same size as our two and a half year old!!! He's gonna be one big boy......
At the end of this month it was time to renew my license plates. I thought for sure I would lose by 8B (Bonneville County!!!) status and have to get 1B plates (Bannock County). This would be very disappointing, but I have been expecting it ever since I moved back to Pocatello. But.....I used my parents address in Idaho Falls (Bonneville County!!) and am still for the next two years the proud owner of 8B plates!! Hee hee......

Mr. Silverstein
Lately I've been re-visiting the wonderful world of Shel Silverstein. I remember when I was in second grade or so and we had some sort of public speaking contest for our school. I recited a Shel Silverstien poem, but for the life of me, I can't remember which one!! I remember staring through the pages of one of his books, and becoming immersed in the artwork and the stories told on every page, but I can't remember which poem I recited!! I remember that I won from our school and went on to some sort of district-wide or maybe city-wide contest, but that is all I remember about that either. Anyway, I found a couple of cute ones that are quickly becoming my new favorties. Enjoy!!
Snowball
I made myself a snowball
As perfect as could be.
I thought I'd keep it as a pet
And let it sleep with me.
I made it some pajamas
And a pillow for its head.
Then last night it ran away,
But first -- it wet the bed.
Pirate Captain Jim
"Walk the plank," says Pirate Jim.
"But Captain Jim, I cannot swim."
"Then you must steer us through the gale."
"But Captain Jim, I cannot sail."
"Then down with the galley slaves you go."
"But Captain Jim, I cannot row."
"Then you must be a pirate's clerk."
"But Captain Jim, I cannot work."
"Then a pirate captain you must be."
"Thank you, Jim," says Captain Me.
Listen to the Mustn'ts
Listen to the MUSTN'TS, child,
Listen to the DON'TS
Listen to the SHOULDN'TS
The IMPOSSIBLES, the WON'TS
Listen to the NEVER HAVES
Then listen close to me --
Anything can happen, child,
ANYTHING can be.
I think this last one is my favorite for today. Kinda reminds me of dental hygiene school, in a way. I'm sure a few of you can relate.

Hobby-less
I have recently decided that I am bored. Really bored. I mean, I can seriously only do laundry, sweep, mop, and/or vacuum the floors, clean the bathroom, do the dishes, dust, and stare at the wall for a certain amount of time before I really go nuts. So I decided to find a hobby. But what? I have had a couple of suggestions, but either I wasn't interested in them, or I thought it was a grandma hobby, etc. I even tried a few. I made a bunch of paper snowflakes for our big front window. Ok. Now what? I tried making necklace pendants out of flat washers. I still don't know if I like those or not. And last night I made Christmas cards. Can we say "Fail" on that one.......Maybe I'm just not a crafty person? Is it possible for it to be impossible to have a hobby?

Molly's teeth!
Last night I decided to clean Molly's teeth. She had a black line of calculus near her gumline on her upper canines, and a smidgen of veneered calculus on her upper molars, but that is about it. But you should have heard how the people at the vet's office a couple of weeks ago went on and on about it. Seriously. For all my dental hygiene peeps: they made it sound like she was a Class 5 or something. They said she needed to be scheduled for a cleaning and that they may have to sedate her to do it. Okay. If you have ever met Molly, you know that she is a crazy, super hyper, out of control dog. AT FIRST!!! If you stay for about ten minutes and let her settle down a bit, she is the most normal dog ever. With just Jake and I around the house, she is the perfect dog. She knows sit, stay, lay down, up, and shake. And if you say "shake" and then "other paw", she will shake with the other paw!! She is a great dog until someone comes over. Anyway.....I knew that we didn't need to sedate her, and I sure didn't go to hygiene school to have to pay someone else to clean my family's teeth. And our dogs are part of our family. So I sat on the floor with Molly's head in my lap and Jake holding back her gums and petting her and we got it done. She was awesome. She didn't like the sound (or maybe the feel?) of "scraping" her teeth, but she held still for the most part. I am so proud!! I love you, Molly-pup!!

So...I've never had a blog before. But I keep stalking other people's blogs and it seems to me that no one ever posts often enough. Come on, people!! What am I supposed to do with my day besides read your blog?!! So I thought to myself, "Why don't I start my own blog and then when no one else has posted, I can post, and then feel like I have accomplished something for the day?" Great idea, right!!??!!? I dunno. Enjoy!!
